OUR TEAM
Heather Smillie is a veteran of commercial, residential and production design with over 20 years of experience having worked as an interior designer on The Property Brothers, Designer Guys and The MOM Show and for numerous private clients. This pool of experience gives Heather limitless ideas to draw from in her work.
Heather has the unique ability to help a client realize their vision for their space even when they can't articulate it. Her greatest professional joy comes from creating a space for a client that reflects their personal style and makes them feel at home.
Kiera graduated from Georgian College for Residential Interior Design and since has 14 years of experience in the field. She has been a part of our team for 3 years and has brought her experience in 3D renderings, floor-plans and technical drafting! Kiera has a lovely way about her when helping clients navigate their project. She can be counted on for fresh ideas and good sound design advice.
Jenn started in the flooring industry 25 years ago and has a vast knowledge on everything to do with our various flooring products! She joined our team right off the get-go 6 years ago. Jenn is a key member of the HR team both on the sales floor with her experience and in her role in Purchasing and Receiving.
Joe's decorating career started in 1981 at a local paint and wallpaper store. Not long after he started as a flooring installer which led him to open his own business, JD's Flooring Center. In 2015, his business was sold and ultimately turned into House Rules Design Shop, where we had the pleasure of Joe joining us on staff in 2018! Not only does he have incredible product knowledge in flooring he has a great eye for colour and design.
Tamarisk has 10 years of experience in design in a variety of applications. She graduated from the Interior Design program at Fanshawe College with distinction and as the recipient of several awards, including Highest Academic Achievement and Exceptional Technical Skills. She is currently working towards completing her National Council for Interior Design Qualification, which is a combination of education, work experience and a series of exams.
